As we think of ‘independence,’ maybe we should think beyond slogans and naaras. Maybe we should think about what independence really means. Why it is important. How it is lived. Maybe Talib can help us understand all of that.

    Razi,
Politicians are definitely not exonerated. Every political leader has been a tyrant himself/herself including ZAB, NS, BB.

However, it is the army which is the absolute authority in Pakistan. The whole political setup is their dog and pony show.

If I were to pick one thing to fix in Pakistan which must happen in order to build a system supported by strong civilian institutions, it will be the return of army to it’s consitutional role.

I hope the moderators will not filter this statement, the army under ghaddar generals has become a deadly cancer afflicting our nation.

Nawab Bugti said, “It is better to mismange our affairs then to let others manage our affairs.” The civil society in Pakistan needs to become more proactive and assertive in reclaiming the country.
