Shahid Afridi took his 200th wicket in One Day Internationals (ODIs) today. He is now World’s 27th and Pakistan’s 6th bowler to achieve this milestone.

u r very great.but when u steped in the ground firstly,score almost 25 runs and then go for hitting.so, that your average will also improve and you can easily develop consistency and your performrnce will also be counted.
Bitter truth, for your info. Imran Khan played 175 ODI matches and Wasim Akram played 356 ODI matches.
The bittertruth about Shahid Afridi, which no one talks is, he is the 3rd player in the world after Jayasuriya and Jacques Kallis who took 200 plus wickets and also scored 5000 runs. Neither, Imran, nor Wasim, nor Kapil Dev, Ian Bothom, Shuan Pollock or anyone else did this.This is a great achievement which Pakistani people never acknowledge, all they expect from him is chakka and chakka and nothing but chakka.
Afridi has been misused by the captains, coach and the selectors, they kept him in and out of the team by blaming his inconsistent performance. It is true that he has been inconsistent but, if you keep a player out of the team after every second match, then obviously his performance cannot be consistent.
If you look at his career ODI average, it is not impressive due to the musical chair type of selection in the team. But, if you look at his most recent foreign tours, say within the last 3 years, he has done much better.
In his last tour to Australia, despite the same usual in and out treatment, in the 5 innings he played his average is 50.25 and he hit 16 sixes in 5 matches and that too against the best team in the world and against the fastest and best bowlers in the world. He is the only player to have hit three huge sixes (two in a row) and three fours in a row and in two overs of Glen McGrath he scored 31 runs and that too in Hobart, Australia in Jan. 2005.
He remained 56 not out in 26 balls in that match. In the next match in Sydney he scored 48 in 37 balls and hit three sixes of Lee and Lehmen’s bowling. In the next match he scored 37 of 13 balls, again two sixes in a row to Brett Lee. In the first final at MCG he hit two huge sixes in a row to Shane Watson, one of them is reckon as the biggest ever six seen at MCG.
Forget about the 37/100 and 45/100 or 229 sixes or 32 in one over or a strike rate of 110 etc. No one! Is there any player in the world who has achieved this feat in Australia against the Australians?
In the Caribbean tour during the year 2005, in the three ODI matches he was declared man of match once and player of the series for scoring his fastest test century in 78 balls and his over all performance with bat and ball in both forms of the game i.e., test and ODI. In South Africa during the recent tour he thrashed all the SA bowlers and remained 77 n.o. in 34 balls. Against India, in India, Sharjah and even in Toronto he scored centuries, so why do they call him a flat track bully and a one time trick pony or he scores only at home?
The last match he played in Abu Dhabi, he excelled with the bat and ball and single handedly won the match for Pakistan. So what else people expect from him? Should he be scoring centuries everywhere and all the time?
Afridi doesn’t get the respect he deserves. First they made Shoaib Malik the captain of the team and now to humiliate him further Salman Butt has been made vice captain. Salman Butt was out of the team for 2 years. Suddenly he is the vice captain of the team now? Isn’t it a joke?
