Adil Najam
If you have seen this before, can we please request that you hold your answers for now. If you have never seen this picture before, can you guess what major Pakistani city this is?
See correct answer here. See more details on the photograph and on answer here.
Now that a number of people have guessed it right (and, yes, I am impressed) let me share with you a few things about this photograph:
1. Yes, it is QUETTA by night.
2. We had actually used the exact same picture as an ATP Quiz about two years ago, here. We assumed (rightly) that a lot of new readers have come since then and they might not have seen that original post (hence the request in the first line of this post).
3. This is one of my favorite Quiz posts from myself (the other being the series of quizzes on Edhi sahib) precisely because it is very easy to assume that this is Islamabad or Karachi. This time – just like the first time – a LOT of people thought it was one of those cities. If you know the layout of either of those two cities well enough and then look carefully at this picture you can see why it is not one of them.
4. Two years ago I had done a detailed answer post with details about this picture, this quiz and also more about Quetta in general. I would urge readers to maybe revisit that answer post to read more about this picture and related information (here).
Thanks, all, for playing along…. especially those who actually know this picture and did heed to the first sentence in the post and kept mum about it all day!
Its neither Karachi nor Islamabad
Its Quetta
I just checked, the earlier link I provided did not work. Let me try again:

Hope that helps.
Does look like Islamabad to me. Although with so many people mentioning so many different places I am now confused.
This is another angle:

Who knows, I maybe wrong but my money is on Quetta.
