Tamashbeen

I usually do not hold politicians in much esteem. But I have found new found respect for a number of them in this video. Specially because the journalist who was trying to be ever so clever comes out looking quite the monkey. He wanted a Bandar ka Tamasha, and he comes out looking like the biggest Bandar himself.

What’s the big point about speaking ‘correct’ English – especially in a country where most people (and certainly most journalists) cannot even speak correct Urdu! Beyond signifying the chooti zehniyat and linguistic insecurity of the journalist himself, the clip only serves to make one respect the ones who refused to answer in English.

If you are going to make a big deal about speaking correct English, maybe you should start by asking your own (rehearsed) question in correct English.

If this was the journalist’s attempt at being funny, the joke is on him… and what a bhounDa joke it is!

Who is the politician in the dark glasses… I like this guy. Go Man. That is the attitude. Also the woman who laughed off the journalist and asked if his channel was an English chanell.

If it is a ‘comedy’ program that is no excuse. Actually, being NOT FUNNY in a comedy program is even worse than being just not funny!

I think this clip is from a comedy program in Pakistan, not sure about the name but someone will provide that for sure. But I do take the point that pretend journalist is not doing justice with English either.
I think its pedantic to expect that if you are an MP you should know how to speak English. I won’t even mind if they only speak their regional language as long as they do the job they are elected for (to serve their constituents).

This is bound to happen in a country which has no journalism schools of class! worst, people don’t even consider it important to have qualifications for being a journalist. All Tom, Dick and Harry become journalist by grabbing a mike and camera.

    Another idiot reporter.
Aapni angraizi tou seedhi kar lay bhai!
