Adil Najam

Following the targeting to Aaj TV station during the May 12 riots in Karachi, Gen. Pervez Musharraf gave an exclusive long interview to Talat Hussain and Aaj, much like he had given an interview to Geo after the attack on Geo. Here is a how it went.

Thanks to Saad for putting this on YouTube and sharing.

I am amused rather than surprised by the explanation offered by Imran Farooq of MQM about 15 monutes where he was speaking live on Aaj Tv’s BoltaPakistan programme. Same rhetoric that they were getting very popular in the country and there must be some one who produced these conditions apparently to malign them.

Imran Farooq said that his party has demanded Government should find out where were the rangers and police when people were being killed?

Brilliant MQM. Isn’t it. These thugs very well know who planned these attacks and what happened has been recorded live on so TV channels. It is very difficult for these thugs to fool the public.

    MQM has produced three options.

    To resign from federal Ministries

To resign from both the Sindh and centre.

To resign en bloc and sit in the opposition.

One of the analysts from Karachi, Mr Ziahid, asked MQM a question, who was responsible for law and order in Sind?
He said that MQM Home Minister, on one occasions, is on the record saying that MQM used the containers to block the roads.

Mr Zahid was of opinion that they will never quit the government.

After about two weeks……is this a new tactic to get rid of blame?

Many of the 15,000 police and security forces deployed in the city stood idly by as armed activists from Karachi’s ruling party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), a coalition ally of Gen Musharraf, blocked Mr Chaudhry’s exit from the airport and took control of the city’s central district…..(Sunday Telegraph)

Who gave the orders to the so called law enforcement agencies to do nothing when these murderers were busy pumping bullets under their nose. Never seen such law enforcement agencies.

    Who issued orders?

Who was heading the Home Department?

Why IG and Home Secretary were wasting their time at Karachi Airport where the CJP was stranded?

Is Musharraf that naive not to make conclusion that MQM marauders were busy inflicting wound on Karachi?

Why he congratulated MQM supremo on organising this ’show of strength?

Who ordered to blockade all the routes leading to the Airport by oil tankers and ship containers? They did not just drop there. Who is responsible for shipping?

Where the hell was the Chief Minister when this was happening?

British Media ran several stories on how Altaf Hussain is controlling Karachi from his lavish sofa in North London.

Altaf Hussain is a convicted criminal. As Ardeshir Cowasjee notes “…Party chief Altaf Hussain, who fled the country and is now in residence in London with a British passport in his pocket. In one case, FIR 211/91 of 24/6/91, filed by Major Kalimuddin in Landhi police station, Altaf Bhai and six others were awarded 27 years RI by the special terrorist court…
