Adil Najam
Here is a rather gruesome ad from the Punjab Anti-Narcotics Force, warning prospective pilgrims going for Hajj to Saudi Arabia of the dangers of drug trafficking.
The painted bill board ad makes the point, rather graphically and quite clearly that anyone caught bringing drugs into Saudi Arabia will face death. One wonders, however, if that point is being made a little more graphically than necessary.
The wording on the billboard (seemingly quite large and on an outdoor public location) says:
Don’t unknowingly invite death.
By taking someone’s else luggage or unnecessary foreign or local medications do not put your own life at risk.
Taking narcotics or addictive elements to Saudi Arabia will result in a certain death penalty.
Anti-Narcotics Force (Punjab).
How, I wonder, does a parent explain to a child who sees this billboard why the Arab-looking man is beheading the Pakistani-looking man with such gusto.
One wonders who it is that really gives Muslims a ‘bad name’? The message for the prospective drug smuggler to Saudi Arabia is quite clear. But, what is the message for the rest of us? And the rest of the world?

Janab Pakistani sahib
There is indeed no link in Saudi’s drug law and off loading the imams. Read all the thread completely. Isay kehtay hain baat main say baat nikalna. Grin
Pakistani actually it’s your crazy analogy. Sajid and Babar were actually comparing freedom in US and KSA. Obviously your logic doesn’t make any sense at all.
Wah janab wah. Amazing logic.
The Americans send back some Jordanian imams who have broken immigration laws and are without visas, therefore it is now OK for the Saudis to chop off the heads of Pakistanis.
Makes full sense!
Mr. Baber
Everyone knows how Americans and British governments treated Muslims all over the world. Useless to mention American forces crimes in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan, Bosnia and other parts of the world. If you still think that Americans and Britons tolerate and respect Islam, it is very strange…..
You said that
“Not letting them fly has nothing to do with religious freedom”
OK but it has to do with human rights and our beloved America is the champion of human rights. Why they prefered to kick out the Imams while they could off load the critising passengers also.
Sajid
Arn’t you being very judgmental about me and other Pakistanis living aborad?
Dear babar, you were also being very judgemental about Pakistan/Saudia. Whatever I said was not untrue. I gave a general perception and was not targetting anyone here. Why Pakistanis ignore the evils of American or other western society and desprate to promote positives while on other hand they try their best to push positives of Pakistani society and expose negatives to outer world. As long as this country doesn’t getrid of such mentality which once ridiculed by an american consulate that pakis are always desprate to get US visa and questions about it in different parties. The title of post is related to Pakistanis and their corruption and has no relation with Saudia. If USA impose same or similar punishment in US then you would start reading news about them as well.
