Another unfortunate development of the day and I am unable to understand who is advising government of making such foolish decisions.
It seems now that the Government of Pakistan has banned Kamran Khan Show as yet another casualty in the ongoing saga of the Chief Justice of Pakistan’s (CJP) removal from office. Geo has just made it public and Kamran Khan appeared on Geo News just a few moments ago and apologized to viewers that he would not be able to present his show due to this ban (audio of what he said, here).
It was Kamran Khan Show in which Mr Wasi Zafar’s misbehavior on VOA was reported (video of that program here). He was also the host of Geo’s live transmission which showed and commented on the misbehavior with Chief Justice of Pakistan and his family last Monday. I guess Kamran Khan has finally paid the price of speaking the truth and his efforts to present facts to the people of Pakistan.
GEO TV website has this information on how the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned this show:
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has imposed ban on “Aaj Kamran Khan Key Sath”, the famous programme of Geo Television Network.
“Aaj Kamran Khan Key Sath” has been stopped as the government has imposed ban on it, said the spokesman of the Geo Television Network.
It was regretted at 11:05 PM, when this programme starts daily, that the programme could not be aired due to government ban.
Reacting to the ban on this programme, Kamran Khan, the host of the programme, condemned the government action and said that there was no other agenda of the said programme except making people aware of real facts and correct analysis.
This is a direct attack on freedom of press and freedom of expression. Looks like we will now see more bans if Pakistani Media didn’t cooperate with the government. I am also wondering what will happen to the Ansaar Abbasi now. We should all condemn this unjust action? But HOW?

Oh, BTW this is not irrelevent. I have always spok e against hypocrisy of Musharraf and his so called enlightmened and moderation and freedom of press but then at that time the anti cabal spent most of time cursing me or like wise and tried best to prove wrong. What you and me are experiencing today is not surprising at all. Atleast for me and as long as people like you keep supporting dictators like musharraf ,altaf etc then majority of nation would keep suffering due to ignorance of minority.
Since the topic is about freedom of speech so I hope ATP administration would think a bit before declaring my comments “irrelevent”[which is absoultely not] and put in moderation.

As far as your “unity” is concerned then its not different than “unity” of Bibi,nawaz and others politicians against Musharraf.
I agree with Akif we should be united against this shameful act..one should praise what is right and condemn what is wrong without any bias.

The thing which was not mentioned by majority[I could figure out the reason] that in this invasion on GEO building, police misbehaved famous Geo lady producer Asima Chudhary and even pushed her and attacked on her. Same Police also misbehaved with daughter of ex ISI chief Gen.Hamid Gul and misbehaved with her infront of her father[shown on GEO]. I just saw on ARY that police was beating up a guy[Thudday exactly],took of his shirt and when he fall down then they kicked on his head as if they are kicking some dog.
This is being done by the person who was worshiped in past on same forum by many member and declared a person brave enough to support women,freedom etc etc. Now same anti-Mullah fraternity on this forum condeming Musharraf,coining childish terms “dur fittey” etc. Same people were not getting tired by singing praises of Musharraf, quoting iqbal, women members of this forum was making lengthy posts against zia,hudood ordinance and getting happy that their Messiah had given them new life. Now same anti-Mullah fratenity innocently cursing Mush as if they did nothing in past or database of this forum. what a hypocrisy. Though I am not surprised as I already knew that the dictator would just show his real face after fooling few people who started looking towards him with hope.
Oh between I just noticed that Adil Najam just added a seperate section IN CONTEXT in which he put videos of both Zia and Musharraf in same slot. What a painful scene that would be for anti-Mullah cabal who always claimed Thekedaar of liberalism,freedom and women rights activists in the name of SECULARISM. Maybe he is treating both in same manner, i don’t know but this section once again proved my point that Left hand side is equal to Right hand side. Equation proved!
