Owais Mughal

The following photo is courtesy of Mr. Waheed M. Zuberi. This banner was on display at the main Clifton Road opposite Park Towers in late 2007. For our English readership, the banner reads:

“Miracle of Nature: Milk Producing Male Goat”

and then the contact information is given. At first I wanted to pass on this photo thinking it was too speculative, like a news item that appears on evening newspapers, but then we do see natural and man made ‘miracles’ commercialized in circuses, Zoos, melas etc. This could be another natural phenomena being commercialized or it could be a fake but I found the banner very interesting to read.

Same as we have some examples in humans, this bakra has harmonal disease/disturbance: Gynecomastia with increased prolactin secrection, hence milk production. Who knows if the male hormones of that bakrs are functional or not? Probably not!

Here you go Tina, http://www.unassistedchildbirth.com/miscarticles/m ilkmen.html
    Scroll down to the end.
Internet is stuffed with articles on male lactation.
Someone should put pakistani goat on You tube. It is still a news not known to many.

well, I looked, found an American and a Dutch hermaphrodite goat on Youtube, but no Pakistani goat yet….LOL maybe someone can find it….

  5. Tina says:

There’s a video of this goat on Youtube. It’s real, although it was in Punjab at the time, I believe. It appears to express a range of true hermaphrodite features, including giving milk and functioning testes. I do not know if it can become pregnant, but the fact that it is lactating would appear to indicate that it can. An extreme rarity, but as Shahid said, not impossible.

Can anyone get us a link to the youtube video?
