I just find this photograph – taken last week in Peshawar – so very interesting. What do you think will happen next? Will one or both of them fall? Will they make it to their destination? Do you think they know each other or is the guy on the bicycle tagging along uninvited? What do you think is in the boxes? What does the ‘takhti’ at the front of the motorcycle read? Why is the guy on teh bicycle resting his foot on the bar instead of the pedal?

There is obviously no answer to any of these questions, but sometimes the simplest of compositions about everyday life makes you think. Even smile!

@ShahidnUSA: I don’t see the relevance of Britney’s song? Plus what’s so heart fainting about it? I guess its about what you are used to, or not…

I agree with my friend Ajnabi!
Its very common in Pakistan, I had been doing the same being a student, once I drove my bike to railway station with a car. All physics rules go to hell at that time due to experience. So need not to worry about falling of any body.

I think Eidee Man is on to something. If the guy on the bicycle did not have his feet on the bar, the cycle will probably fall into the motorcycle.

    Physics rules!

Given that they seem to be paying more attention to the photographer and not a lot to maintaining balance, it would seem that they have been doing this for a while.

At first glance it looks like the guy on the right is holding on just to avoid pedaling, and has one foot off the wheel for added bravado. But no, if you look carefully, the placement of the foot, his holding on to the other bike, etc are all essential for him to create a center of gravity in the middle of the bicycle. Simply brilliant.
