Our ATP Poll today is a simple question – one that all cricket lovers in Pakistan are thinking of. Lets hear from you, what you think. And figure out also what our collective thinking on this is: How far will Pakistan go in the ICC Cricket World Cup that starts in less than two weeks – i.e., what is the highest level that the Pakistan team will get to in the World Cup? (Remember, we are asking you what you think will happen; not what you want to happen!)

The trouble ridden Pakistan team has had plenty of rough patches recently, but the recent series in New Zealand have injected a new enthusiasm amongst fans – at least that the team is building itself up again.

The question, of course, is whether the comeback is real and whether it is real enough to sustain through a World Cup? What do you think?

P.S. Results of a similar ATP Poll we had conducted right before Pakistan’s ill-fated performance in the 2007 World Cup are available here.

Is this a sign of things to come?
Pakistan lose warmup game to England.

  2. Dervish says:

Early rounds are easy,so semifinal birth is sure for Pakistan, InshaALLAH.
Then if Afridi,Gul and Misbah play their role well with bat and ball, we will be in final.
In final if we overcome our”usual”bigmatch fear,we will beat Australia/England easily.
The best thing we have this time is an inspiring, enthusiastic and player friendly leader BOOM,BOOM AFRIDI but, but ,but,,,,if he acts sensibly and does bite the ball in his overeagerness :)

Even though our team is unpredictable but I have a belief that they can go on and win this cup. Pakistan chances are as good as Australia, SouthAfrica or India.
Even if Pakistan lose to Australia, Newzealand and Srilanka, Pakistan can reach Quaterfinals by beating the minnows. And from there its just 3 games and Pakistan team have the potential to win 3 games in a row.

  4. Shafiq says:

The evidence that they are guilty is in their statements and interviews. A person who is not guilty seeks his sentence to be quashed. Salamn But is seeking reduction in his sentence – meaning that he has done something wrong but sentences should be less. Further he states that had the law been there in respect of spot fixing his sentences again would have been less – again meaning that he is guilty.
    Same for the Amir’s statements.
And as for Asif he should have been banned following the drug controversy. Drugs have no place in cricket or in any sport.
