Adil Najam

I realize that Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry has much, maybe too much, on his plate right now. And all of immense consequence. He and his court will be judged on how they deal with these monumental issues. But they will also be judged on whether they can give the ordinary Pakistani a confidence in the justice system.

That sense of confidence – now lacking – is as consequential to Pakistan’s future as any other decision that this Chief Justice and this court will make. For that reason alone, one hopes that Mr. Chief Justice will take heed of this news report. So should all of us.

I do not have enough details of this case to make up my mind. But that is not the point. The point is that these parents who have lost their daughter deserve justice to be served. Deserve to find out what really happened. Deserve to bring closure to their immense loss.

Every Pakistani deserves that.

This incidence is reflecting nothing but factors about our society that have not changed regarding “the little man” against the “BIGGER MAN”!

I have personally seen and know of people that can be bought by nothing but money.

A lonely CJ, can do something yes,
-but when the system itself is infected, and even ingested
its not much a CJ can do by giving it a medication for treatment to get the Systema Juridicium for it to overcome the acute phase….
the core problem will still be there. We are dealing will a chronical failure of Systema Juridicium.

This will take a loooooooong process to eradiculate.

Insaaf is something to ask for at the Court of THE TRUE RULER , ALLAH,
-and not at the court in Pakistan, as status quo is.

N.B. I do share the scepsis and thoughts as expressed by
Anwar, Farrukh, Waqas, Shirjeel, Riaz Haq, Asif, Rai Azlan
    and Natascha

*beep beep beep* – I dont have words to express my frustration.

    Heart-wrenching.

People have a lot of expectations with the CJ .Hope he will pay attention. The missing persons case hearings also need to be resumed as soon as possible. It’s pay back time Mr.Chief Justice!

Yes ..Now when Pakistani people are totally disappointed by Government and they Consider Pakistani Courts as the only Institution Which Can redeem their Sufferings and injustices They are facing in the Country.

  4. Rai Azlan says:

such things happen at places where no rule of law exists. and no doubt after the restoration the CJ is traveling over “Pul Srat” each day he has to deal with many cases but he must give hearing to such people as well.

  5. ASIF says:

I wonder what else these mullahs are doing to innocent girls in these madrassahs!
