‘Ultimate Lollywood’ is not a title that I would give lightly to any song. Only twice before have I used this title in the post (here and here). I dare say that I have now found a third specimen to match the first two. Have a look and listen and decide for yourself.

The film is ‘Dekha Jaye Ga’; the singer is the legendary Ahmad Rushdie; and the actor is Shahid. But the Ultimate Lollywood-ness of this particular song comes entirely from the words. Duma Dum Mast Qalandar in English!

Here is what the words seem to be saying (although I am still not sure about that “tie with me; humanityly” part… maybe someone can help me decipher that; could be be saying ‘human feeling’?). Let me admit that beyond the absurdity that is pure and adorable Lollywood, the words are not that bad … this, is no ‘Tu Turu Turu Tara Tara!”

What’s Today; What Will Be Tomorrow;
Don’t think; Sing with me; tie with me; humanityly

Dama Dum Mast Qalandar; Sakhi Shahbaz Qalandar
This is the Song of Wonder; Song of Wonder, Song of Wonder

Get together; don’t be lonely; Life is a game of few days only;
Don’t think; Sing with me; tie with me; humanityly

Dama Dum Mast Qalandar; Sakhi Shahbaz Qalandar
This is the Song of Wonder; Song of Wonder, Song of Wonder

Live and Let Live; and Love and Give Love;
Love is God; and God is Love;
What You Lend or What you borrow;  Don’t think;
Sing with me; tie with me; humanityly

Dama Dum Mast Qalandar; Sakhi Shahbaz Qalandar
This is the Song of Wonder; Song of Wonder, Song of Wonder

I had earlier suggested that the first selection (March 29, 2009) was ‘Ultimate Lollywood,’ and the second selection (February 20, 2010) was ‘Lollywood Supreme.’ This song here, then, should be dubbed ‘Lollywood Grande.’ Do you not agree?

Update: Here is a different video version of the song… maybe some will prefer this set of actors:

Another update: As one of our readers suggests, maybe it is “humanity link” and not “humanityly”!

    It’s not “tie with me; humanityly” – it’s “tie with me; humanity link”

    Love it. Just love it. Have been humming this all morning. If only Michael Jackson had gotten his hands on this.
