Owais Mughal

Credits for photos belong to Pervaiz Munir Alvi saheb. He took the photos on his recent trip to Pakistan and graciously shared them with me. The location is the Grand Trunk (now called highway N5) in Punjab.

While we have discussed Declaration of Emergency, Chronology of a Meltdown, mis-treatment of Imran Khan in recent past, one topic that got missed is what’s Benazir Bhutto up to these days? We would like to hear from our readers. Today, on my drive back from office, I was listening to Imran Khan‘s interview on National Public Radio (NPR). On a question of joining forces with Benazir, Imran Khan replied:

“We would love to join Benazir, except we don’t know whose side she is on today….There is a big mistrust of each other among opposition parties these days”.

I agree. What do you think? Above photos are in no way ATP’s endorsement to Benazir. They simply reflect a glimpse of our society. In addition to that, I personally enjoyed reading the slogan: “faisla zameer da….”

@ Banner “dipicting” Chaaron Soobon ki Zanjeer

It should be considered pejorative :
    Chaaron Soobon par zanjeer
    Phooti subki yu’n tagdeer
    Paon mein dali kiu’n Zanjeer
    Milti hay koi aisi Nazeer
    Rota hey qismat pay Kabeer
    Karey hay aisa koi Bezameer
    Benazir Benazir

Nawaz Sharif’s meeting with King Abdullah has started and hopefully something good regarding the return of Nawaz Sharif would come out of it.

As the name of the forum suggets, it might just be a project of ISI.

While, as Zia points out above, there is definetely an anti-Bhutto trend in ‘Pakistaniat’ (though I won’t blame Owais Mughal for any bias in starting this article or for naming the article originally as he did) one would shiver in horror reading (mostly expat/youngsters) in http://www.pakistanidefenceforum.com. Overthere, there are no reservations about killing of Bugti or the recent deportation of NS or the bombing attack on BB on Oct. 18th. I feel satisfied to say that on all three matters above I, along with a few others, was the dissenting voice. Even now you will find there blind support for Musharraf, death wish for BB.

And that’s from the educated classes of Pakistan!!! What makes it even more saddening is that many of the youths there are brought up in Western liberal/democratic societies.

May God save Pakistan from them and their ideological kins at Pakistaniat.
