Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria tumbling, and dropping, Paul Collingwood, on the first day of the 1st Test match between England and Pakistan, at Lord’s, July 13, 2006 (picture from CricInfo). Collingwood went on to amass 186 before he fell, on the second day, to Kaneria. Alistair Cook and Ian Bell also scored centuries for England as they declared at 528-9 and then sent three Pakistanis back to the pavilion, leaving Pakistan 66-3 at the end of day 2.
Pakistan had gone into the game as favorites (also see earlier ATP post), have paid a big price for bad fielding, and are now in serious trouble. Tomorrow will be a key day for Pakistan.
Right Humaira, actually did not do that bad in the end. score at end of day 3: Pakistan 409-7, Mohammad Yousuf 185 not out. I guess it was a batting pitch and this is heading for a draw.
What did you expect from a team that does not have–and has never had–a REAL opening pair.
Not totally safe, but Pakistan is recovering. 301/6 at this time. M. Yusuf still playing at 137, Inzimam scored 69.
Kaneria badly needs fielding lessons!
