Adil Najam

Back in September 2006 we had asked our readers to grade the performance of Gen. Musharraf (he was graded B-/C+). In this latest installment of ATP Polls we would like to find out how you grade the performance of those holding key offices in Pakistan: President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kiani, and Opposition Leader Nawaf Sharif.

As someone who grades people for a living, let me just say that the purpose of this exercise is not to see whether you like these people or not, it is to see what how you think they have been performing in the offices they now hold. It is perfectly possible to not particularly like someone but come to the conclusion that they are doing a decent job in what they have been assigned to do, or vice versa. So, please, eventhough this is just a fun exercise, use your vote justly.

Do please also leave a comment and let us know what you think of their performance.

I rated Zardari as excellent becasue he is the only one who has been making decsions..A tough politician making tough decisions in even tougher times. He has been intelligent enough to survive..both physically and politically.. keeping the party intact . His stance about taliban and militancy has been consistent and practical.

3 and 5 are the onces who are trouble makers. For them Pakistan will only run if they are at the helm. Think of them as ones who will not support anyone but would like the support of all so that they can sit on the top. Therefore their leadership is based on selfish motives. Both are no good with failed leadership experience then who I am a jalawatan.

    meengla,mq and asghar
problem may be …no one is going to mention these comments in results….

  5. Asghar says:

I also agree with MQ and Meengla. I think people are being very harsh. I do not like Zardari as a person, but the question here is how has he been as President. And the answer is, not bad at all.

In fact, I also think that they all get a B or higher!
