Didn’t I say that they have completed their quota of good performance for a few matches?
Again, after that excellent performance on wednesday, back to a standard batting collapse that has become a speciality of our batting line-up.
Rain came to the rescue the other day, or Rana Naveed and the other pacers (minus Asif of course) would have again shown their experties in entertaining the crowd through an excellent display of how not to bowl.

Afridi doesn’t do well in 15 or so maches but then one fine day he goes and wins the match singlehandedely for Pakistan. Just for that sheer talent (though very inconsistent), I wolud keep him in the team :) This is my personal opinion and feel free to disagree

official word is out. Banned for four matches, including the first two of the world cup.

for someone who plays as a top order batsman, afridi’s odi batting average of 23 is simply not acceptable. nor does his strike rate count for much when he only sticks around for about 4 overs. furthermore other teams have players who score nearly as fast as afridi and yet are much more consistent. in this category i would include players like symonds and justin kemp of south africa.

afridi was finnished a long time back and it would be a huge blessing for pakistan if he was banned from the world cup.

have you guys noticed that lately, our tailenders have often batted better than the top order[/quote]

Is it a new thing for Pakistan??since we entered into this 21st century that is exactly what’s happening … bowlers usually do most of the batting too … even shoaib akhtar and sami or kaneria can now make 10 + (unlike our usual openers)
